Turkish Market Distribution and Market Entry Partnership
We take on the import, compliance and distribution side that moves a food product proven in your own market onto Turkish shelves, as your single point of contact.
Start a distribution conversationTürkiye is a market of 85 million — with its own rulebook
For an exporting food producer, Türkiye is a market with real scale but a distinctive route in. Imports fall under the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and are inspected through TAREKS, the risk-based electronic control system; depending on the product group, a Control Document may be required before import; and shelf labelling must comply with the Turkish Food Codex and be in Turkish. TeraVella positions itself on this side as a distributor candidate: we run the import, compliance and distribution process for your product. We make no claim about brands we already represent — the structure is built around your category and volume in discussion.
Market entry scope
- ✓ Import process management: Control Document application where the product group requires it, risk-based inspection steps through TAREKS, and follow-through on customs and laboratory procedures
- ✓ Turkish-language labelling and packaging adaptation compliant with the Turkish Food Codex, including checking whether a food-contact material compliance certificate is required for your packaging
- ✓ Channel planning across chain and independent grocery retail, HoReCa, e-commerce marketplaces, and the gourmet and speciality food channel
- ✓ Warehousing, logistics and order management run through a single point of contact
- ✓ Market feedback: regular reporting on price positioning, competing ranges and demand signals
How the process runs
Product and market assessment
We review your range, target consumer segment and price band, then establish together which channel is realistic in Türkiye and which products should lead.
Regulatory and labelling compliance
Import requirements for your product group are mapped, Control Document and TAREKS steps are planned, and Turkish labelling and packaging adaptation is prepared.
Launch and distribution
After the first shipment we run the channel launch, track sell-through and stock, and report market feedback to you on a regular basis.
Who it serves
Overseas food producers and brand owners wanting to enter the Turkish market, export departments, brands established at home but without representation in Türkiye, and exporters looking to restructure an existing Turkish arrangement. Category, volume and any exclusivity structure are settled in discussion.

Start a distribution conversationTurkish market distribution FAQ
Can you take on distribution of our product in Türkiye?
We are a candidate for exactly this and open to discussing it. The structure is built around the product category, the volume targeted and which channels are in scope. We publish no claim about brands we already represent; each conversation is assessed on its own terms.
What documents are required to import food into Türkiye?
Imports fall under the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and inspections run on a risk basis through TAREKS. Depending on the product group, a Control Document may be required before import, and food-contact packaging additionally requires a compliance certificate. Which of these apply to your product is mapped in the first step of the assessment.
Who handles labelling compliance?
Turkish-language labelling compliant with the Turkish Food Codex is mandatory. We prepare the label text, nutrition declarations and packaging adaptation; final approval and the print process are run together with you.
Which sales channels are covered?
Chain and independent grocery retail, HoReCa, e-commerce marketplaces and the gourmet and speciality channel are all assessed. Which is realistic depends on your product category, price position and shelf requirements — we do not make inflated channel promises.
Do you offer exclusive distribution?
Exclusivity is negotiable by territory and category, and is handled together with mutual volume commitments and term conditions. Nothing is committed in advance.
How does the process start?
